Investor Midday: Put on your rally caps

Investors got tired of the gloom and doom and sent tech stocks zooming up on a few patches of good news Thursday. The Nasdaq rose 90.52 to 1,729.32, while the Dow Jones industrial average soared 242.95 to 9,758.37.

The Inter@ctive Week @Net Index gained 11 to 147.91.

Investors are still hanging on for one bit of economic news; the government’s jobs data is scheduled to be released tomorrow. An extremely weak report could bolster the case for the Fed to lower rates for a fourth time this year. Full story. --Margaret Kane ZDII
