In a blog post yesterday, the company said that it has teamed up with a furniture manufacturer to design and fashion new work pods for all of its staff.

The pods include in-chair heating and massage capabilities, speakers in the headrest and USB and SD card connectivity for music. The pods also come with additional stand space for secondary monitors.

Kogan is hailing the pod as "the future of office spaces around the world", complementing its already paperless office and mobile workforce.

"The internet is causing the world to change at a rapid pace, and this includes the work environment. If you look at the workspace of any business 10 years ago, you will find a cabinet with lots of files, a big desk with mounds of paper on it, bookshelves with reading material and a lot of general clutter," it said.

"Today, all of this is replaced with just one tool: a laptop. We recognised this at Kogan, and worked with a furniture manufacturer to create the ultimate Gen Y workplace for our staff."

Kogan's trend towards mobile, wireless offices follows other "hot desk" roll-outs, including Microsoft Australia's new Ryde campus and the Commonwealth Bank's move to a wireless office at Darling Park.
