In the first of what we hope to be many episodes of The Dan and David Show (feel free to suggest a new name), Dan and I kill 11 1/2 minutes arguing about everything that's on the tech front burner as the sultry summer (in this part of the world) winds down--from George Dubbya's signing of a bill that turns cybersecurity into a law for power plants and software patent commons and other legal straight jackets to on demand CRM wannabe SAP and salesforce.com. On the good guys/bad guys segment, Microsoft gets kudos for combatting spam on the legal front (using spammers' money against them), but still deserves a spanking for the breakdown of talks over how to restructure the Internet's e-mail protocols. Dan also gives me 60 seconds to rant about how Intervideo sued Dell over a ridiculous patent, and we make some some predictions, most of which will probably never come true.  All this and more in a little more than ten minutes of gripping audio can be delivered directly to your desktop or MP3 player if you're subscribed to our podcasts (See ZDNet’s podcasts: How to tune in), or if you want you can just download the MP3.  And please, let us know what you think.
