'Love Bug' variant 'Cartolina' sends European postcards
An Italian version of the "Love Bug" was reportedly spreading across Europe Wednesday night, hitting at least ten companies in Germany, France and Italy.
Officials at antivirus firm Trend Micro are reported as saying the virus has been using the cover of night to spread and are concerned things might get worse when day breaks across Europe. The email containing the bug is written in Italian however so the risk of an outbreak in the UK is considered minimal.
According to reports so far, five companies in Italy, three in Germany and two in France have been infected by the bug known as "Cartolina" or "postcard" in Italian.
