Ma Bell puts IE up front on Web

UK users of AT&T's WorldNet Internet access service will get Internet Explorer 3.0 as their default entrance to the World-Wide Web after another significant win for Microsoft in the browser wars.

Sweetening the deal, Microsoft will also add Ma Bell to its Internet Referral Server to ease access for users wishing to use the service.

Microsoft yesterday said it estimated itself as having up to 20 per cent of the browser market that is still dominated by Netscape's Navigator.
