Look out too for the Lara Croft worm, coming to you soon...

A version of the Magistr virus, which can escape detection from anti-virus scanners has been detected by users in Spain. Virus specialists Kaspersky Labs have warned that the new version, Magistr.b uses a reworked code of the original virus, which anti virus solutions cannot yet trace. The Magistr.b will delete all files on local and network disks, and will destroy data on computer boot-up files and Flash Bios microchips by overwriting operating system loaders Win.com and NTLDR The virus attacks all common email databases, and will also disable active copies of Zonealarm firewall software. Kaspersky Labs also warned today of an internet worm named after Tomb Raider heroine Lara Croft. The worm spreads through Internet Relay Chat (IRC), disguising itself as a file carrying Tomb Raider desktop wallpaper.
