MapInfo invests in NearMe

MapInfo Corp. (Nasdaq: MAPS) has invested an undisclosed amount in NearMe.com, a company that helps consumers find goods and services located near them. MapInfo will license NearMe's technology and both companies will deliver the technology via the Internet. --Margaret Kane, ZDNet News
