Ericsson becomes single parent to Microsoft unwanted child...

Microsoft and Ericsson have given up on plans to jointly develop mobile software solutions. The Ericsson Microsoft Mobile Venture stuttered to a halt after Microsoft failed to take up its 30 per cent stake. As a result Mobile Venture will now become a division within Ericsson, as the Swedish telco has confirmed itself as the sole owner. The only real success to date of Mobile Venture was with the development by the two companies of mobile emailing software which has been licensed to three mobile operators. According to the Financial Times the two companies will continue to work closely with one another.
