Net threat to TV thrown out - report

Six months of intensive investigation has concluded that the Internet will not kill television.

The survey, released this week and funded by Microsoft, examined the watching habits of people trialing Web TV. It discovered most people watched TV online just as much as they would offline -- so the TV stays on while people surf.

It also showed that people were keen to interact with their television more. Unfortunately this probably won't mean a revolution in TV standards because people mostly wanted to play interactive games based on "popular" TV gameshows.
