News Burst: Another sub-£500 PC on market
The market for cheap PCs gained a new recruit this week with NEC Direct offering customers a sub-£500 computer

The Direction SE-300cL is powered by an Intel Celeron 300A processor with 128KB Cache and 32MB RAM. The machine comes with Windows 98, a 15" monitor and an 8MB video card. Priced at £469 the PC is available from the NEC Direct Web site.
Speaking about the burgeoning sub-£500 PC market, general manager for NEC Direct Colwyn Munro said: "Basically people want entry-level PCs but they don't want non-Intel processsors."
