News Burst: CIH antidote available for free
The Anti Virus Research Centre at Symantec has developed a free tool, it says will "turn off" all strains of the CIH virus.
Symantec claims the antidote to CIH is so clever it doesn't need to re-boot the affected PC.
CIH infects 32-bit Windows 95/98 and NT executable files. The virus infects a computer's memory and infects new files as they are opened. It also attempts to modify or corrupt some Flash BIOS systems. When successful, CIH can lock a computer.
