News Burst: Linux on Apple PowerPC?

US reports suggest that Apple Computer is planning to announce a family of Power PCs running Linux at next month's MacWorld in the US.

Apple UK says it doesn't know whether the rumours are true but acknowledged there is a demand for Linux particularly in higher education.

Apple has already co-developed MkLinux with the The Open Group which is available on the Apple Web site.
