News Burst: 'Racial ravine' divides Net users
A US report from the Department of Commerce says that while more Americans than ever have access to technology, the gap between rich and poor, and black and white, is growing.
The report said that households with incomes of $75,000 (£46,000) or more are 20 times more likely to have access to the Internet than those at the lowest income levels. The report also said Black and Hispanic households are about two-fifths as likely to have home Internet access as white households.
