The Palm Centro is currently the shining star of the Palm product lineup and following on the success of its debut with Sprint and then AT&T, Verizon Wireless and Palm today announced that the Centro will be available starting tomorrow, 13 June. Like with Sprint and AT&T you will be able to pick one up for US$99.99, after rebate and service plan.

This model Centro supports the high speed EV-DO, not Rev A, network that Sprint Centro owners experience as well. The Palm Centro has a 320x320 touch screen display, Palm OS 5.4.9, Bluetooth 1.2 radio, 64MB available memory, 1.3 megapixel camera with video capture capability, removable 1150 mAh battery, microSD card slot, and comes in cobalt blue for Verizon Wireless. Every carrier has a different color which is really the only difference between the Centro models (except for GSM vs. EV-DO of course).

Verizon Wireless has an E-mail and Web for Smartphone plan available for US$29.99 for unlimited data and then if you need to tether with your laptop you can add the BroadbandAccess service for an additional US$30/month.

I think the Centro is a great choice for a compact smartphone that has everything the majority of people need and it is available at a very reasonable price.
