Psion Plc. announced that Sanyo will develop its next-generation wireless devices using the Symbian software platform. Psion is the top shareholder of Symbian with a 28 percent stake in the company. Sanyo and Sony are the only two companies outside the Symbian consortium shareholders -- which includes Ericsson (ericy), Matsushita, Motorola Inc. (mot), Nokia Corp. (nok) and Philips -- that are developing for the platform. -- Richard Shim, ZDNet News
