Senator seeks tax cut for telecommuters

Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., has proposed a bill that would give companies a $500 tax credit for each employee who telecommute. Santorum said the idea is to encourage companies to support telecommuting, which he said "reduces traffic congestion, air pollution, gas consumption and our dependency on foreign oil," and "giv(es) working parents flexibility to meet everyday demands and gives retirees and the mobility challenged flexible employment options." -– Margaret Kane, ZDNet News
