Everything's OK. It's fine...

Siemens chief executive Heinrich von Pierer is predicting a rosy future for his firm, despite the industry downturn. Von Pierer told German newspaper Welt am Sonntag that he had "no reason to be pessimistic" about the company's finances over the next 12 months, backing Siemens' wide product range to help it weather the storm. Despite giving no clue as to what the firm's preliminary results for 2000/2001 will contain when they are released on 14 November, von Pierer said booming sectors like medical equipment and power generation would buoy up the company.
