There are plenty of useful and even essential apps for the iPad popping up in the iTunes Store - some of which are worth shelling out a few bucks for. And then there are just ones that you wonder how they got there, especially with such an absurd price.

For instance, there's the SiteClone Publisher app, a program that allows users to develop programs that can pull data from websites without an Internet connection. The cost? $900.

Granted that price is beyond belief considering it is more expensive than any of the iPad models themselves, it should be noted that this app is geared towards government and business-related clientele rather than someone just looking for a new game to play.

According to Wired, developers also suggest its good for places with already bad Internet connections who need to download lots of data on a regular basis. (But which would be cheaper in the long run: resolving the Internet issue or buying lots of iPads with this application?)

If you take a look at the product page in iTunes, you'll see that SiteClone is currently running on an opening-weekend promotion price for $99.99. The regular price is $900, and given that the weekend is over, that price will probably be adjusted soon. What a deal.

The app also exists on the iPhone, but given the greater screen size on the iPad and more work involved with the app, it's probably better to spring for it on the iPad.
