Sony has been forced to pull the 2.40 version of the PlayStation 3 from download servers because of complaints that the new update was causing problems for the owners of the console.

PS3
According to Sony PR the 2.40 software update was temporarily taken offline about an hour after it was made public.

From what I can gather from gaming forums, the problems were quite limited, but Sony did the right thing in pulling the download.

If you're already downloaded the update you'll be in one of two camps:

  • Your PS3 works, in which case enjoy the new features such as XMB and trophies
  • Your PS3 doesn't work, in which case call Sony tech support

Anyone here affected?
