Sprint HTC Mogul update brings us the first EV-DO Rev A Windows Mobile device

Sprint announced the release of an update that makes the Sprint Mogul the first Windows Mobile device with EV-DO Revision A support. The update can be downloaded by Mogul owners for free at the HTC site. The update also provides advanced GPS functionality with the integrated GPS receiver.

Sprint announced the release of an update that makes the Sprint Mogul the first Windows Mobile device with EV-DO Revision A support. The update can be downloaded by Mogul owners for free at the HTC site. The update also provides advanced GPS functionality with the integrated GPS receiver.

The Sprint Mogul is a high-powered Windows Mobile 6 device with all of the wireless functionality you could want in a single device. The EV-Do Rev A upgrade bumps average download speeds from 400-700 kbps to 600 kbps - 1.4 Mbps. Upload speeds gor from 50-70 kbps to 350-500 kbps. Most all of the EV-DO network they have supports Rev A. The Mogul is available for US$199.99 after a US$100 rebate and 2-year contract and can also be used with the excellent unlimited everything plan.
