The best-selling games of 2000
Interestingly, only six games passed the 1 million units sold mark in 2000, according to PC Data. Along with the ones already mentioned, Gran Turismo 2 (PS), The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64), and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater on the Nintendo 64 were all million sellers.
EA's Madden NFL 2001 was the best-selling PlayStation 2 game, while its Dreamcast counterpart, NFL 2K1, despite being on the market only since September, was the best-selling game in 2000 for Sega's next-generation console with close to 1 million units sold. The entire PC Data sales charts for 2000 are listed below. Although most of the games listed were released in 2000, some, like Gran Turismo 2, were released in late 1999 with majority of their sales occurring in 2000. For those games, only the units sold in 2000 are represented.
