Toshiba said Thursday it has recalled more Sony laptop batteries due to fire risk.

The Japanese electronics company said it is replacing an estimated 5,100 lithium ion batteries worldwide after fires erupted in three PCs in 2006 and 2007 from batteries made in December 2005. In 2006, Sony was hit by the cost of recalling 9.6 million laptop batteries after incidents in which some burst into flames.
