United Breaks Guitars Song 2 hits Youtube
As promised, singer and musician Dave Carroll has posted his second song about his ordeal with United Airlines over a broken guitar.
While I thought he could not outdo the original United Breaks Guitars, he may just have done that with ensemble of 30 or so extras, some playing the clarinet and baritone horn. The playful song recounts his interaction with a United customer service agent Ms. Irlweg and has more extensive credits.
Carroll 's pledge to write three songs because United mishandled his claim over a broken guitar on a flight a year ago from Halifax to Nebraska has become legend in the capturing the power of social media. The original United Breaks Guitars released on Youtube July 6 stands at 5.1 million views and 21,363 comments.
Released last Monday, Song 2 probably won't enjoy the popularity of the lively first song, but has garnered a respectable 185,861 views and 1,098 comments so far. Not surprisingly, some said the first song was better, but song 2 is getting good reviews.
In my interview with Carroll a couple of weeks ago, he struck me as a individual who makes good on his word so a third song is assured. But this episode and I'm sure Carroll would agree has started to run its course.
