Upgraded Yahoo! IM now offers voice calling (well, kinda)

A newly posted version of Yahoo! Messenger now offers a type of phone-over-Internet calling.

The folks at Yahoo! are really rolling out the old marketing megaphone on this one:

"You can also get much better sound quality than regular phone lines, Yahoo! says on its main Messenger page. "Try it out - you and your friends will really hear a difference."

What Yahoo! isn't telling you - and to their credit eWeek is- is that this call feature is only possible between Messenger buddy list contacts.
