WebMethods appoints Asian operations VP

Maruf Majed has been appointed as vice president of integration software provider webMethods Inc.’s Asian operations.

Maruf Majed Maruf Majed has been appointed as vice president of integration software provider webMethods Inc.’s Asian operations.

Based in Singapore, Majed will report to Thomas N. Erickson, webMethods’ vice president of Asia Pacific operations.

Majed has more than 17 years experience in various sales and management roles throughout North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. He joins webMethods from Ariba Inc. where he was director of sales for Asia Pacific.

Previously Majed held senior management positions in the IBM Software Group including regional manager, EMEA, where he led his team to generate a revenue growth of 70%. He pioneered initiatives to establish IBM’s presence in 28 countries in the EMEA region, and as director of worldwide sales operations, spearheaded the development of new sales and business models that helped the company achieve global sales operations objectives.

Majed holds a BSBA from University of North Dakota and an MBA from the University of Texas.
