Why green and why now?

The folks at Peoplecube think they have some answers. Why Peoplecube? They make and sell workplace scheduling software. So here's what they see happening in the greeniverse in 2008.

In general there'll be more investment in green tech at work. Because it can save money by cutting energy bills. Peoplecube points out that HVAC energy use can be as much as 60% of total energy use in many housing and office buildings in America. Their look at greentech goes on to predict more hoteling in offices, less assgined desk space that sits vacant much of the time but requires heating, cooling, ventilation and lighting all day long.

And Peoplecube's CEO points out the pulling power of a green workplace, "We'll see green organizations enjoy a better employee retention rate and generate more interest from job candidates who see environmental consciousness as a critical requirement of their employment."
