Visualphone allows users to send and receive video phone mail and email with image attachments. It has a built-in camera so users can capture images and store them. It also functions as a video answering machine. If a videophone call is received while the answering machine is on, an image and voice message of the caller is recorded.
The phone is 54x140x29mm and weighs in at 165 grammes. Currently it only operates on the Japanese PHS network and is not compatible with European networks. In Japan Visualphone is expected to sell for around £200, but Kyocera has no plans to bring the phone to Europe in the near future.
