Yahoo's most irritating page

I have been using Yahoo Mail and MyYahoo since the early days of the Web, before there was a Google. The latest version of Yahoo Mail does a good job of adapting the look and feel of a familiar desktop mail application to the Web. However, Yahoo breaks one of the fundamental rules of the user experience by putting what amounts to an interstitial money grubbing page in front of my inbox every time I click into Yahoo Mail. I understand that Yahoo needs to make money, and the home page of Yahoo Mail is a money page, but when I click to view my mail I want to see what is in my inbox, not the latest news headlines. I know where to get the news headlines, and it is not on top of my inbox. I am even willing to pay a modest fee direct access to my email, which would be worth more to Yahoo since I never click on the ads or non-email links on the page and it completely irritates me, and potentially drives me to switch my personal email to Gmail.

When clicking into Yahoo Mail, you get news headlines, not your inbox.
