SuccessFactors on Tuesday acquired Plateau, a content as a service company, for $290 million evenly split between cash and stock.

The deal, expected to close in the summer, is designed to go with Jambok, a mobile learning video provider acquired by SuccessFactors.

SuccessFactors said its plan is to combine learning content so companies can combine it with its business execution and human capital management software.

The company said that Plateau will bolster its suite, boost profits and add a sales team. Plateau also counts General Electric among its 350 customers. Plateau's learning management tools will be incorporated into SuccessFactors BizX suite.
