If you haven't heard or realized by now, this year is the 30th anniversary of the release of The Empire Strikes Back. There have been a lot of merchandise and books released this year to commemorate the event, including these Star Wars-themed USB drives made by Mimobot.

SET-UP and USE

This couldn't be easier. Like most other USB flash drives, it's a plug-and-play operation. For reference, these drives use USB 2.0 technology and are compatible with Mac and PC computers. You'll know when the drives are fully connected to your computer as a red light will flash (as seen in the photo below).

There a bit bigger than most USB drives, measuring 2.5-inches tall and 1-inch wide. But still, you couldn't find a USB drive cuter than these, and they'd surely make fun stocking stuffers for that Star Wars fanatic in your life. (Everyone has one.)

AVAILABILITY

Buyers have five characters to choose from in the special edition ESB collection of Mimobot USB drives: Yoda, Wampa, Hoth Luke, Lobot and Snowtrooper. (Other characters have been available for some time now.)

But these adorable little flash drives are definitely pricey. Starting with the 2GB capacity, expect to pay $29.95 (plus shipping and taxes). From there it costs $39.95, $59.95 and $89.95 for 4GB, 8GB and 16GB capacities respectively. You're really only paying for the design here, but if you love it, then you have to have it. Maybe USB drives are the new action figures?
