Amazon Kindle back on the market

Despite its most unattractive appearance, Amazon’s popular Kindle reader is now back in stock, this time with a 10 percent price drop.
While the $359 price tag still may be steep, it's welcome, since the official ZDNet review of the Kindle noted expense and content options as the only major problems in a gadget that is still the best reader of the bunch. Now if only Amazon designs a product that doesn't look like it came from the Casio calculator watch family.
The tech blog CrunchGear also notes the Amazon feature “See a Kindle in Your City“, some sort of participatory site that "is both genius and ridiculous." It's clearly an aggressive attempt to market the device by putting a human face on it -- I'm thinking the Nikon D40 Picturetown commercials here, but not nearly as calculated -- but I'm not sure how effective it is.
After all, when was the last time you saw a Kindle on the street? (If you have, tell us in TalkBack.)
