45% of British IT departments say users should do their own backups

78% of UK employees thought that they, not the IT department, controlled whether e-mail was saved or deleted. While most IT departments make a backup copy of e-mail every night, only 4% back it up during intervals during the day.

78% of UK employees thought that they, not the IT department, controlled whether e-mail was saved or deleted. While most IT departments make a backup copy of e-mail every night, only 4% back it up during intervals during the day. 42% reported they automatically backed up data from mobile devices and laptops. 45% said users were responsible to back up that data. 71% of IT managers do not archive e-mail of employees who leave their companies.
