in brief Commonwealth Superannuation Administration (ComSuper) has started looking for a new chief information officer to lead its IT support operation.
The organisation, which has a combined membership of over half a million contributors, is responsible for the superannuation of various public service departments along with the Australian Defence Force. ComSuper has more than 400 staff.
Applications for the position are advertised as closing on 28 August. ComSuper's offices are located in Belconnen, Canberra. The current acting CIO is Adrian Walkden.
In March 2007, ComSuper went to tender for new back-office servers, with current contractors including Novell and Sun Microsystems.
David Johnson has been ComSuper's CIO until March last year, who told ZDNnet.com.au that "after three and a half years I wanted to moved onto greener pastures". He is currently the CIO of IP Australia — where current IT projects include the implementation of a patent search called AusPat and an overall of IP and trademark core business systems.
