Dr Solomon's posts Excel macro virus fix

Anti-virus specialist Dr Solomon's has posted a detector for the ExcelMacro/Laroux virus, the first replicating Macro virus able to infect Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. The driver is available on S&S's Web and CompuServe site.

Anti-virus specialist Dr Solomon's has posted a detector for the ExcelMacro/Laroux virus, the first replicating Macro virus able to infect Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. The driver is available on S&S's Web and CompuServe site.

However, the firm cautions against panic, stressing that the only reports of Laroux been from one company with sites in Alaska and Africa. Laroux infects Excel versions 5 and 7 on all current versions of Windows but not Macintosh.
