Eric Raymond, reluctant star, may visit London

Open-source evangelist and gun enthusiast Eric Raymond told ZDNet UK this week that he could make an appearance at the next UK Linux Expo to be held at London Olympia in June

Raymond, who once organised a meeting for Linux technical enthusiasts at a firing range with the title: "Geeks with guns" said that all that remains is for someone to invite him over.

Raymond seemed slightly perplexed by the growing celebrity status of himself and other open-source crusaders. "I don't act like a rock star, do I? No more than Linus. I'm a technical person."

"All this," said Raymond pointing to the crowds of Linux enthusiasts gathering around Torvalds' feet "is just a political game that Linus and I get reluctantly get drawn into."
