It's another weird eBay auction...

Online auction house eBay is hosting the sale of a debt-laden US ice hockey team. Bidding for the Anchorage Aces has reached $1,600,500 although the reserve price of $3.5m has not yet been met. Last weekend bids on the auction reached $2.3m but the team discovered the top offer was false so the auction process had to be restarted from scratch today. The clock is ticking for the Aces who filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last month, after the total amount of debt owed by the team to over 100 creditors reached $2m. The Aces have just two days to make the sale or the hockey league can take over the team and break it up to cover its debts. The Anchorage Aces are a minor league team and have lost the majority of their games in recent years, ending bottom of their division last year.
