High Speed Internet access hotel rooms
Singapore, Feb 28 (Asia Pulse) - A joint venture announced here today plans to deliver high speed internet access to the hotel rooms of business travelers.
The venture, between Aztech Systems Ltd, Somerset Holdings Ltd, Startups.com Pte Ltd and AVSdotcom Pte Ltd, is to be called Net2Room.com Pte Ltd. Net2Room aims to equip hotel rooms and serviced apartments via broadband network utilizing existing telephone cable. A statement said the rooms/apartments will be well equipped with the necessary PC, hardware and software applications to provide a wide range of value-added services including Internet access services.
Software applications will be provided by Aztech's Internet business unit. Internet enabled hotels/serviced apartments is becoming an increasingly important factor in hotel choice for business travelers. Net2Room create a revenue sharing opportunity for hotels/serviced apartments managers who are seeking to address the cyber challenges and to those who desire to distinguish themselves from competitors.
Net2Room uses Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) Technology from Aztech to provide broadband Internet access to hotels/serviced apartments without the need for any new cabling work. It allows business travelers with Ethernet ready notebook computer to enjoy the convenience of high speed Internet access without the need to change any settings or reconfiguration to their notebook computers.
Net2Room will also provide e-commerce opportunity to the hotels/serviced apartment with a secured payment gateway. As a portal for the business travelers, it will offer a targeted audience for web advertising, promotion and other Internet businesses. Under the Joint Venture, Aztech being a leading provider of communication, multimedia and Internet technology will provide the hardware and software technology to the Net2Room.
AVS will carry out the supply of personal computers, systems integration, installation and maintenance works. Somerset, being a major property and service apartment player in Singapore and in the region will provide necessary market access for the Net2Room. Startups will bring business and market alliance to the Joint Venture. The parties will hold equity interest in Net2Room.
