NEC Display Solutions has debuted an incredibly bright and colorful LCD monitor: the 24-inch MultiSync PA241W display.

Featuring a 1920 x 1200 native resolution with a 16:10 aspect ratio on a 10-bit LCD panel (with increased color depth to over a billion colors), this screen is really meant for serious graphics professionals, either working with video, photos, illustrations - you name it. It also seems to be for the energy-efficient-minded as the display also contains a carbon footprint meter.

Here's some of the new Multisync's specs to consider:

  • 360 nits of brightness
  • 1200 pixels of vertical workspace
  • 1000:1 contrast ratio
  • 102% coverage of NTSC and 99.3% coverage of Adobe RGB
  • 8ms response time
  • Connectivity: 10-bit DisplayPort, DVI-D with HDCP and USB hub
  • 178-degree viewing angles
  • Ergonomic tilt-and-swivel stand (see photo below)
  • 3D lookup table
  • Ambient light sensor
  • Automatic backlight adjustment

Beauty is never cheap though, as this monitor will set buyers back $1,079. But it is available starting today, and that price includes a 4-year parts and labor warranty, including on the backlight.
