NEC Display Solutions has debuted an incredibly bright and colorful LCD monitor: the 24-inch MultiSync PA241W display.
Featuring a 1920 x 1200 native resolution with a 16:10 aspect ratio on a 10-bit LCD panel (with increased color depth to over a billion colors), this screen is really meant for serious graphics professionals, either working with video, photos, illustrations - you name it. It also seems to be for the energy-efficient-minded as the display also contains a carbon footprint meter.

- 360 nits of brightness
- 1200 pixels of vertical workspace
- 1000:1 contrast ratio
- 102% coverage of NTSC and 99.3% coverage of Adobe RGB
- 8ms response time
- Connectivity: 10-bit DisplayPort, DVI-D with HDCP and USB hub
- 178-degree viewing angles
- Ergonomic tilt-and-swivel stand (see photo below)
- 3D lookup table
- Ambient light sensor
- Automatic backlight adjustment
Beauty is never cheap though, as this monitor will set buyers back $1,079. But it is available starting today, and that price includes a 4-year parts and labor warranty, including on the backlight.
