SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Intel Corp. is betting that it's Pentium 4 processor will become the engine of choice for high-horsepower PCs. But analysts attending this week's Intel Developer Forum want to know if it's worth paying twice as much for a chip that may be no faster than the Pentium III.

Put the two chips side by side at the same clock speed, and the Pentium III may run 20 percent faster, some analysts said. Full story. -- John G. Spooner, ZDNet News
