SmartSuite on the up

Dataquest says Lotus's SmartSuite has risen Lazarus-like and blitzed its way to 20 per cent of the market for application suites.

The US market researcher says the first quarter saw Lotus gaining on Microsoft's Office juggernaut by piling on advertising and marketing dollars. The firm also plans to push harder on OEM agreements, business partners and migrating users of rival products - effectively down to Office and Corel PerfectOffice.
