The next WinMo Palm Treo may be the first with 320x320 and integrated WiFi

Palm has done a lot to improve the Windows Mobile experience on Treo devices with the Today screen plug-ins, threaded SMS, and other handy utilities and functionality. That said, I tried to like the Treo 750 series and use it as my Windows Mobile device, but the lame 320x240 display always limited what I could do on the device. According to rumored information over at PalmInfocenter it looks like the first Windows Mobile 320x320 display Treo may be coming to Sprint in July as the Treo 800w.

According to rumored information over at PalmInfocenter it looks like the first Windows Mobile 320x320 display, Wi-Fi sporting Treo may be coming to Sprint in July as the Treo 800w.

Unfortunately, it looks like it may be another two steps forward and one step back since the device may have this fantastic 320x320 display and also integrated WiFi, both first for Windows Mobile and Treo devices. However, it may also run Windows Mobile 6 Standard (non-touch screen) and thus have a bit less functionality than the touch screen devices. I would like to see a Treo with these two new features running Windows Mobile 6 Professional like the current Treo models.

Other specifications of the rumored Treo include integrated GPS and EV-DO Rev. A. Models with and without a camera may appear from Sprint as well. The Treo 800w will of course have the integrated Treo QWERTY keyboard and most likely the latest form factor used in other Treo devices like the 750 and 700p.
