The reality TV series we all really want to watch

I'm not a big fan of reality TV shows, particularly the ones that are focused on the life of a particular celebrity. For a while, I liked watching Ozzy, and then some of Gene Simmons, strictly for the bizarre aspects, but then the morbid fascination tends to fade quickly. My wife, Rachel, happens to love my Bravo's My Life on the D List, a reality show which chronicles the career of the pretty, fiery red-haired self-deprecating comediane Kathy Griffin. I happen to like Kathy a lot -- she's foul mouthed, bright, extremely funny, and not afraid to poke jokes at sacred cows. I usually tune into it when Rachel monopolizes the DVR in the living room, but I wouldn't consider myself a habitual viewer of the show.

The season opening of My Life on The D List wouldn't have attracted my attention other than the fact that Kathy unveiled her new boyfriend. He's a successful, retired dorky computer geek, who consults for huge computer companies, teaches high school students in his spare time, who charms her with hacking her iPhone, teaching her to ride a Segway and volunteering to help her celebrity friends with their IT problems. He's overweight, eccentric, and more than a bit socially awkward.

He also happens to be a billionaire.

According to reports, the romance didn't last (the season was filmed in 2007 and early 2008) and Woz is now purportedly engaged to another woman -- but the idea of watching a reality series chronicling the relationship between Steve Wozniak, the co-founder of Apple Computer and Kathy Griffin would just be utterly fascinating. After all, this is dork's dream come true -- what overweight, socially awkward computer geek wouldn't want to land an attractive, funny and intelligent woman like Kathy Griffin and hang out with her celebrity friends?

I guess we'll have to tune in for more.

Is Woz and Kathy the thinking man's Brad and Angelina? Talk Back and let me know.
