Twitter has expanded its advertising platform to a further 12 countries in the EMEA region.
The microblogging platform Twitter is used globally but fails to make much profit -- and so the company is pushing for advertisers to sign on for new schemes which will better monetize the company. As a result, the firm's advertising network, called Twitter Ads, offers businesses the chance to promote their brands via video distribution, online campaigns, and targeted tweets to users engaged in specific media and television shows.
On Tuesday, Twitter said in a blog post that Twitter Ads has now expanded further within the Europe, Middle East and Africa region (EMEA). In total, 12 new markets have been added to the roster: Austria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Ukraine and Portugal.
"This brings there has been tremendous growth in this region over the last year, and Twitter Ads will now be available in 35 EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) markets through direct sales support teams and reseller partnerships," Twitter said within the announcement.
Twitter began offering small businesses advertising solutions back in 2012, and the firm's push in to mobile marketing has grown to this day. In the late half of 2013, the social media network purchased MoPub, a mobile-focused advertising exchange fated to join with Namo Media's technology, which Twitter uses to add native advertising to mobile applications and to better streamline advertising within user Twitter news feeds..
