Users' peripherals: 82% have CD-RW, 76% have CRT, 68% have DVD-ROM

Parks Associates surveyed 4,000 US households asking them about peripherals on their PCs. CD burners and DVD readers were pretty popular among US households, and 76% still relied on the CRT monitors for their home desktops.

Parks Associates surveyed 4,000 US households asking them about peripherals on their PCs. CD burners and DVD readers were pretty popular among US households, and 76% still relied on the CRT monitors for their home desktops. 31% said they had LCD monitors, which creates the overlap of 7% of the users, which corresponds to those using dual-monitor setup and the users who frequently have to switch their PCs between different monitors. Almost a third of US households had a DVD writer on their PCs, 17% boasted a TV tuner card.
