Affordable, capacious penguins...

Storage management company Veritas has revealed details of its Linux strategy and products. The company already has customers such as Amazon.com investing in its Linux-enabled storage software, but it is now looking to extend this offering as enterprises become increasingly interested in lower-cost operating systems. The company yesterday outlined details of its Linux strategy, which will initially see it launch Linux-ready Cluster Server and ServPoint software. Veritas has also had its software certified to run on Dell PowerEdge servers and IBM's eServer xSeries Linux platform. Next year, Veritas Linux products will also be available for Oracle databases.
