VoIP-builder tool Ribbit: has potential, but manage your boasting, please

In the IP Telephony space over the last several days, everybody's been talking about Ribbit.

So I guess I should join the chorus.

As you can see by the graphic, Ribbit's appealing value proposition is an open API (Application Program Interface) that will enable developers to add branded VoIP to their websites. It also appears that customized Internet telephony will be mashable with Flash-like applications.

OK, that's the cool part.

The uncool part is the boasting: "Silicon Valley's First Phone Company." Ribbit, you aren't a phone company per se, but an application suite that enables telephony.
