Although my colleague here at The Apple Core David Morgenstern blogged that Steve Jobs won't be giving the keynote address at WWDC 2009, don't count him out just yet.

Apple announced that senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing Phil Schiller will be giving the keynote address at the developer conference on 08 June 2009 in San Francisco. Although the details of Schiller's preso are shrouded in secrecy and the subject of much debate in the blogosphere, the popular consensus is that Apple will announce iPhone OS 3.0, a third-gen iPhone handset and Mac OS 10.6 (a.k.a. Snow Leopard).

Don't be surprised to see Steve-O make an appearance at the end of the keynote to deliver his trademark "One More Thing."

I'm hoping that Steve shows up with his "pet project" -- the Apple tablet/anti-netbook -- tucked under his arm and announces that it will be shipping within 30 days, but that's a tall order. He may simply show up to announce that he's returning to Apple, as promised, after his six month hiatus.

Regardless of what iron Steve does/doesn't have tucked under his arm (and it could be nothing) I think that it's important for Steve to show his face to the Mac faithful, despite what the Apple PR says.

Will Jobs make a cameo appearance at WWDC? What new Apple iron are you hoping for?
