Web portal Yahoo Monday announced a deal with CitySearch to license content from its local city guides. Under the deal, Yahoo will use CitySearch's arts and entertainment listings and commentary for Yahoo Get Local, a guide to events in major cities across the United States that includes maps and yellow pages listings. CitySearch, a unit of Ticketmaster, will be the virtual adviser to Yahoo visitors for restaurants, live music and local sporting events in 100 U.S. markets. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The agreement comes as Yahoo seeks to bolster its content and listings business by expanding its relationships with third parties. In recent weeks, the Web portal renewed a deal with Google to provide search results that rely more heavily on Google and less on its own directory pages. --Stefanie Olsen, Special to ZDNet News
