ZDNet UK will next week bring you an exclusive peak into Europe's annual DVD summit, to be held in Dublin between April 15 and 18.

Everyone who's anyone within the DVD industry will be attending this prestigious event and with ZDNet UK you'll be able to get the hottest news and gossip as and when it happens.

Hot topics at this year's show promise to include the overwhelmingly rapid adoption of DVD within Europe as well as the integration of DVD with emerging high-bandwidth Internet technology. The European launch of the fully DVD-enabled Playstation 2, will no doubt be another hotly debated issue.

Adding some conventional thespian character to this digital cinematic technology fest will be Peter O'Toole who will be promoting his latest film The Stuntman. Mr O'Toole will no doubt be able to offer some seasoned advice to those embroiled in the controversy surrounding copyright violation of DVD on the Linux platform.

Other celebrities showing their faces include DVD guru's Jim Taylor from Microsoft and Ralph LaBarge, DVD developer and author of Mars, the Red Plant and Earthlight.

The conference will be held within the splendid grounds of Dublin Castle which provides a suitably magisterial backdrop for the presentation of Europe's much coveted annual DVD awards.

Meanwhile, why not whet your appetite ahead of the summit by taking a peak at ZDNet's very own DVD Basement.
