A-DATA, Intel launch X25-M SSD series in 80GB, 160GB flavors

Leading storage manufacturer A-DATA announced today its new SATA 2.5-in. A-DATA X25-M series solid-state drive, intended for "power users who demand ultimate performance for notebook PC."

The A-DATA SSD X25-M series of SSDs is co-logo with Intel, and feature Intel Multi-Level Cell NAND Flash Memory.

Specs:

  • 10 Parallel Channel Architecture with 50nm MLC ONFI 1.0 NAND
  • Read speed up to 250MB/sec
  • Write speed up to 70MB/sec
  • 85 microsecond read latency
  • compatible to 2.5-in. SATA interface
  • Available in capacity of 80GB and 160GB
  • Native Command Queuing to enable up to 32 concurrent operations

The company promises "higher input/output per second and throughput performance than other SSDs on the market today." The drives also feature low write amplification and a unique wear-leveling design for higher reliability, the company says, and the drives have Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology (SMART) technology to enable the user to monitor that reliability.
